Doug is a friendly, conscientious host. He loves living in the mountains and sharing the beauty of Old Rag and Shenandoah National Park with friends and family.  He grew up on an Oregon farm, where he raised fruits and vegetables to pay for college.  An avid bicyclist, nature enthusiast, and hiker, Doug is always willing to offer suggestions for the enjoyment of the natural beauty near Four Fields Farm.

A real Mr. Fixit, he keeps this home in tip-top condition.  Doug goes extra lengths to support local businesses, including farm markets, local restaurants, wineries, and breweries, and he provides helpful information on the local food and drink scene.

Doug is retired from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he had a long career advancing the safety of chemicals and pesticides; this work gave him a keen understanding of the importance of conservation and environmental stewardship.

Doug and his wife love the Etlan Valley, where they have lived for more than fifteen years in a home they designed and built. Doug purchased Four Fields Farm because of its beautiful views of Old Rag and neighboring peaks, as well as the fine qualities of the house and acreage. This is an upscale property, and with Doug living nearby, it will be maintained with pride and care.
